Chronicles Related to the Night of the Burning Plum
In 2008 we celebrated the fourth Night of the Burning Plum. The Night of the Burning Plum is a tradition found in the University East Neighborhood of Peoria, IL, and is an annual celebration that dates back to the early United States (picture coming). It is a celebration of the Burning Plum, which is the symbol of friendship. As the Plum remains ignited forever, so does friendship have no end, despite the heated discussions and the painful burns that come along with the light brought into lives and the sweet, sweet fellowship.
