Not only do things like the $40 mil. for the hotel effect us today, but who will ever open a new downtown hotel in the future without the same or even more free money? Could you compete with a hotel that got that kind of free cash? This is not a one time deal! This type of free government cash has become the norm. Small local shops are crushed and mega corporations take over becase the playing field has been turned so that true competition no longer is present.
