Moderated Comments
Recently a reader asked about moderated comments. That’s a feature built into WordPress that allows me to choose what comes to the comments and what doesn’t. Since the blog was started I have deleted tens of thousands of spam comments from spambots that circle the internet. And most of them are disgusting.
Even if there were no spam, though, I would choose to moderate comments. There are regular readers whose comments are not blocked but since on some level I consider myself responsible for the content of this page I would like to see and approve of what is said here. I do reply by private email to anyone who comments here for the first time and try to gauge what purpose they’ll have for commenting and whether we can’t find a way to resolve any issues that might be there–but this blog is for communicating with family and friends and for experimenting with my limited creative writing skills.
So if you write a comment and it doesn’t appear here–fret not. I will read it, and if it’s a note for me I will respond to it quickly. If I think it will edify other readers I’ll keep it going through as well.
